Its a mixed kind of day today. We are deep in the season of joy and the anticipation of returning light on so many levels. We feel it in nature, in the holidays celebrated at this time and in the new political climate that is coming. At the same time we are holding space for the return to the light of our beloved teacher and friend, Julie Portman whose journey with cancer reached its conclusion on early Sunday morning. Julie’s work as an writer, actor, & teacher with Ki Theater and Life Stories Workshops gifted thousands of us with the knowledge that our stories are the vital force that creates the fabric our existence. Her husband Paul Reisler (Kid Pan Alley) recently wrote that Julie said we are our most beautiful when we are our most vulnerable. For Paul & Julie and all who know them and treasure them as we do, we hold you in our hearts as we grow accustomed to this new paradigm; a world without Julie in physical form. I pray that she will continue to light the way as we express our stories and weave the fabric of our world wide community together.
