It’s Spring. And what does Spring bring? A sense of newness. Growth and rebirth. Brand new exciting ventures. Although, right now in Los Angeles, it’s brought an unusual rainy season (not that I’m complaining at all, I love some good rain).
So what’s new on our end? Well, quite a bit. Let me catch you up.
John & Viv have left their home in New Mexico and have taken to living on the road. They’ve jokingly called it “John & Viv’s Reverse House Concert Tour” since they’ve been visiting some Art of the Song alumni during their journey. Along the way they’ve interviewed lots of exciting folks for Art of the Song including none other than John Oates. Be sure to look out for that later in the year. Also during their tour they’ve premiered the musical written by Si Kahn and directed by Alice Jankell called “Mother Jones in Heaven” starring Viv Nesbitt with musical accompaniment by John. It’s received rave reviews and, good news for you New Mexico folks, they’ll be premiering the show in Albuquerque on April 13 & 14. See the details below.
As for me, I am proud to say that I can finally count myself among the artists of the Standing ‘O’ Project after having recently recorded my first story/song album “The Many Lives of Mockingbird”. It’s not officially released until April 15 but I’ve decided to take advantage of the Standing ‘O’ pre-release page so it is up on the site right now. You can follow this link to get to it and listen either with your subscription or a 10 day, no credit card required trial. If you’re someone who likes the physical copies and/or is a fan of really nifty artwork (Eliza Lutz did the artwork on it and it’s extraordinary), you can buy a copy on my website hereand, since my albums arrived this week, most likely I’ll ship it to you before the official release date.
For Standing ‘O’, we are working on a brand new website design with a snazzy new makeover and some exciting new features. Stay tuned for that to roll out later this year. This also means that if you have anything you’d really love to see added on the Standing ‘O’ site, now’s the time to send us your feedback!
