Getting to know our guest Radoslav Lorkovic has been one of the gifts of our tenure as hosts of Art of the Song. The late great Jimmy LaFave introduced us to Rad’s formidable brand of musical genius at the Moab Folk Festival in 2005. We’ve been fans of Radoslav’s work ever since, as he glided from set to set, accordion to piano – the go-to sideman at the Woody Guthrie Festival, Folk Alliance International, Falcon Ridge and to many Art of the Song alums including Gregg Brown, JohnSmith, Ellis Paul & Ronny Cox. Radoslav’s ability to sense the nuances of a performer’s next move adds electricity to every show. We sat down with him at the Woody Guthrie Festival with a crowded room of his fans to talk about his life in music.
